PRP Vampire Facial
Treatments
PRP Vampire Facial
Treatment begins with a double cleansing of the skin using ZO Skin Health medical grade products and warm towels, this is followed by dermaplaning to remove dead skin cells and vellus facial hair prior to applying numbing cream. Numbing cream will remain on the skin for approximately 30 minutes. Once the numbing cream is removed the skin will be cleansed once more using our JetPeel device to make sure skin is completely clean and prepared for microneedling. Dr Andre Bredenkamp will draw a small vial of blood from you which we then place in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the red and white blood cells. The PRP will then be microneedled into the skin using our SkinPen microneedling device.

After a PRP facial, you can expect some degree of redness, swelling, and minor skin sensitivity. These effects are usually temporary and should go away in a few days. You may want to avoid intense activity or sun exposure for about 2-3 days post-treatment, allowing any redness or swelling to diminish. Makeup should be avoided immediately after the procedure, and it is recommended to follow the post-treatment care instructions provided by the medical professional. Instructions may include:
- Avoid touching your face for at least 6 hours.
- Avoid applying makeup on your face until the next day.
- Take special care not to irritate your skin by touching it. If you need to touch your face, wash your hands with soap and water.
- Don’t rub the skin, especially when washing and drying your face.
- Use pain relievers like ibuprofen and acetaminophen to reduce any discomfort after the treatment. Especially if you notice pain or swelling lasting longer than 24 hours.
- You can apply cold compresses wrapped in a clean, dry towel to help reduce swelling and discomfort as well.
- Plan to sleep on your back with your face slightly elevated for at least two days after your treatment.
- You should also avoid using exfoliating facial cleansers for about three days or 72 hours.
- Avoid Accutane in the six months prior to beginning your treatment sessions.
- Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
- Do not take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 3 days prior to your microneedling session. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical for your skin rejuvenation.
- Avoid IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure, or sunburns for at least 2 weeks prior to your procedure.
- No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5-7 days prior.
- Do not shave the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there is dense hair present in the treatment area, shave the day before you arrive for your appointment.
- If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent 2 days prior to and the day of the treatment.
- Avoid blood thinning agents for one week prior as bruising is a common side effect of microneedling.
- Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications for one week after the procedure.
- Do not use ice on your face, and avoid using arnica/bromelain. These may interfere with the natural inflammatory process that’s critical for your skin rejuvenation.
- Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks. After 24 hours, always use sunblock (30 SPF or higher) and wear a hat if you are outside.
- Use a painkiller, such as Tylenol, if you experience any soreness.
- Pregnant/Nursing
- Skin Cancer – must be free for at least 3 years.
